You can connect Homey Pro to a PC or Mac to create a local backup, restore it, update the software, or perform a factory reset.
1. Unplug Homey Pro
Disconnect Homey Pro from its power adapter and move it near your PC or Mac.
2. Open the Homey USB Tool
Open the Homey USB Tool in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or another Chromium-based browser. Click Homey Pro to begin.
You can also access the Homey USB Tool via My Devices on the Homey website.
3. Enter Recovery Mode
Make sure Homey Pro is powered off. Insert a pin into the pinhole at the bottom of Homey Pro and hold it in place.
While holding it, connect the USB-C cable to your PC or Mac. Homey Pro’s LED Ring will breathe orange, indicating that Recovery Mode is active.
4. Select an action
Click Next in the Homey USB Tool, then select the USB device named BCM2711 Boot. The tool will load and present you with the available options.

Create Backup
Creates a full backup of your Homey Pro, including settings, apps, and system software. Saved as a
.homeyprobackupfile. -

Restore Backup
Restores a previously created
.homeyprobackupfile to your Homey Pro, including settings, apps, and system software. -

Update Software
Installs the latest software for your Homey Pro. If experimental updates are enabled, the latest experimental version will be installed.

Factory Reset
Resets your Homey Pro to factory settings. Installs the latest stable software and clears all user data.
