Flows are automations in Homey that let your devices work together automatically. For example, you can have your lights turn off when you switch on the television.
Flows follow a simple When… and Then… structure, as shown in the video below.
Starting a Flow
Open the Homey Mobile App and tap Flow in the tab bar to open the Flow editor. Then tap Create a Flow.
Under When…, choose what should trigger your Flow, like a specific time or a button press. Tap Add Card to browse the available triggers.
Once you’ve found the card you need, tap it to configure the settings, then tap Done to save it.
Using additional conditions
Maybe you want the Flow to execute only when certain environmental conditions are true, for example, at a specific time or only when you are at home.
Under And…, tap Add Card to browse the available conditions. When you find the right card, tap it to configure the settings, then tap Done to save it.
Good to know
It‘s not mandatory to add an extra condition to a Flow.
Setting up actions
To complete your Flow, you need to add an action. For instance, you can change the light color, adjust the temperature, and more.
Under And…, tap Add Card to browse the available actions. When you find the right card, tap it to configure the settings, then tap Done to save it.
Testing your Flow
The last step is to test your Flow to ensure it works as it should. Just tap the Play button to give it a try. If you set everything up right, it should run without any errors.
Saving your Flow
Are you satisfied with your Flow? Tap Save to save it.
