Flows are scenarios in Homey that do things automatically for you. For instance, have the lights turn off when you turn on the television. Flows in Homey work via a when - and - then principle explained in the following video.
Starting a Flow
- Open the Homey Smartphone App and tap on
Flow
to open the Flow editor. - Define an event or action that will start your flow, eg. a point in time or a button that has been pushed.
- Select
Add card
to browse through the options for starting your Flow. - When you have found the correct card, tap on it to set it up.
- Tap on

to save this card.
Using additional conditions
Maybe you want the Flow to execute only when certain environmental conditions are true. For example, at a specific time or only when you are at home.
Swipe up
so the "And" group opens up.- Select
Add card
to add a condition to the "And" group. - When you have found the correct card, click on it to set it up.
- Tap on
✔
to save this card.
Setting up actions
To complete your Flow you need to add an action to it. There are a lot of things you can add as an action. For example, let Homey speak, turn lights to a certain color, change the temperature, and many things more.

to add a condition to the "And" group. - Once you have found the correct card, tap on it to set it up.

Testing your Flow
The last step is to test your Flow to double-check if it's working as intended.
- Tap
Test
to test your Flow. - If the Flow is not created correctly you will get an error.
