Homey works with numerous camera brands. Most cloud-connected cameras, like Doorbird and Netatmo, can be added to Homey by installing their apps via the Homey App Store.
Camera setup instructions
Adding an IP camera to Homey works just like adding any other device. Follow these instructions, and you'll be set in no time.
Step 1
Open the Homey app and tap Devices
in the tab bar below.
Step 2
Tap → New Device
in the upper-right corner. Search for your brand and tap its logo.
Step 3
Found the device you'd like to add? Tap the device's icon, then tap Connect
.
Step 4
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing sequence.
Camera automation with Flows
You can use your camera in your Flows once it's connected to Homey. For example, when the doorbell is pressed, send an image to your phone. Or send a snapshot for safety when a motion sensor detects movement while no one is at home.
If your camera brand is not yet available in the Homey App Store, don't worry. Homey supports a lot of IP cameras via the Virtual Camera device. This provides an experience that's a bit less than you're used to with Homey apps. However, it allows you to add almost all cameras to Homey based on their IP in your network.
