After you install the Homey app on your iOS device, the Shortcuts app should automatically discover all your favorite Homey Flows and make them available for automation.
Siri voice commands
You can also start a Flow with a voice command by creating an Siri Shortcut.
- To set up a new Shortcut, open the
Shortcuts
app. - Go to
My Shortcuts
→ tap+
. - Search for
Homey
→ selectStart favorite Homey Flow
→ select your preferred Flow. - Name your Shortcut and save it.
Afterward, you'll be able to trigger the Flow by saying Hey Siri, [shortcut name]
.
Automation
Shortcuts also offer Apple’s way of automation. For you, it brings new ways to start your Flows when things happen on your iPhone & iPad.
- To set up a new Automation, open the
Shortcuts
app. - Go to
Automation
→ tap+
→ select your preferred trigger in the When section. - In the Do section, select
Start favorite Homey Flow
→ select your preferred Flow.
For example, open your Zigbee curtains when your phone’s morning alarm goes off. Or when your iPhone taps an NFC tag at the door, Homey can open your Z-Wave smart lock.
