Kiosk Mode lets you lock your Homey Dashboard to prevent unintended changes, creating a clean and reliable smart home interface. It’s ideal for wall-mounted devices or shared spaces where control and consistency matter.
Kiosk Mode requires a Homey account password
If you signed up using Google or Apple, you may not have a Homey account password yet. Follow these steps to create one.
1. Navigate to Dashboards
To enter Kiosk Mode, open the Homey app. On tablets, tap Dashboards in the tab bar. On phones, go to More (…) → Dashboards.
Press and hold the Dashboard you want to use, then tap Start Kiosk Mode.
2. Authenticate when prompted
When prompted, confirm you want to start Kiosk Mode. You’ll then be asked to verify your identity using your Homey account password.
Once activated, your device will switch to full-screen mode, hiding the system UI and limiting the app to a single Dashboard.
Guided Access & App Pinning
In Kiosk Mode, you can still exit the app normally. For full app lockdown, use Guided Access on iOS or App Pinning on Android.
Exiting Kiosk Mode
To exit Kiosk Mode, tap the close button (×) in the upper-right corner, then authenticate using your Homey account password.
