Tips for cloning a 433 MHz remote
- Avoid interference: Ensure no other remotes are transmitting while Homey is listening for your remote’s signal.
- Stay close: Hold the remote close to Homey Pro or Homey Bridge.
- Press normally: Press the button on your remote once, just as you would when controlling the device.
- Test beforehand: Always test a cloned button by pressing the Play button next to it.
Compatible apps
Homey will automatically search for a compatible app for your remote, as this typically offers a better experience. If apps are found, you’ll see a list of apps after cloning the first button.
Signal consistency
Some remotes, such as car keys or garage door openers, utilize a mechanism known as a rolling code. This means the signal changes with each button press.
Homey might replay these signals successfully, but your receiver will not respond correctly. For best results, ensure that your remote always sends the same signal.
