Set up Homey Bridge to add your devices to Homey and control them from the Homey app. The steps depend on whether you already have a Homey account.
Before you start
Turn on Bluetooth on your phone or tablet and allow the Homey app to access your location. The Homey app needs both to find Homey Bridge.

Troubleshooting
The Homey app doesn’t find Homey Bridge
- Check that the LED ring breathes blue. This means Homey Bridge is ready for setup. If it still rotates white, wait until it changes.
- Check that the Homey app is up to date.
- Check that Bluetooth is on and that the Homey app has permission to use Bluetooth and access your location.
Homey Bridge doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi
Homey Bridge uses Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2, both on the 2.4 GHz band. Connect Homey Bridge to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Homey Bridge doesn’t connect to Homey
If you use Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini or Homey Self-Hosted Server
Homey Bridge connects directly to your Homey over your local network. During setup, it needs internet access once to find out which Homey to connect to.
Check that your network allows a direct connection between Homey Bridge and your Homey. In most networks, this means:
- Both are on the same VLAN and subnet.
- Client isolation and access point isolation are turned off.
- Neither is connected to a guest network.
If you use Homey Cloud
Homey Bridge needs a permanent internet connection to reach the Homey Cloud servers. Check that your network settings, such as your firewall, allow this.
