After purchasing a new Homey Pro, you can easily migrate your settings from your previous Homey by following the steps below.
1. Create a backup of your old Homey
Create a backup of the Homey you’re replacing via More (…) → Backups → Create Backup.
2. Turn off your old Homey
This prevents conflicts between two Homeys with the same settings.
3. Restore your backup on the new Homey Pro
After connecting your new Homey Pro to Wi-Fi, Homey will prompt you to restore a backup. If this isn’t your first setup, reset the new Homey Pro to its factory defaults first.
FAQ
Will my apps be restored after migration?
The backup doesn’t include installed apps. After migration, your new Homey Pro automatically downloads and installs compatible ones. Apps that haven’t been updated to SDK v3 won’t be installed.
Do I need to reconnect my third-party services?
After migration, sign in again to all third-party services connected to your Homey account, such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT. This ensures those services continue to work correctly.
My Zigbee devices aren’t responding after migration. What should I do?
Send a repair command to each Zigbee device to reconnect it with your new Homey Pro. In the Homey Mobile App, open the device settings and tap Try to Repair under Maintenance. In the Homey Web App, right-click the device tile and select Repair.
Why do I need to power off the old Homey?
Z-Wave and Zigbee create internal mesh networks that manage your devices. Each network can have only one Homey controlling it. If two Homeys share the same network details, they’ll interfere with each other.
Can I migrate from Homey Cloud to Homey Pro?
It’s not possible to migrate from Homey Cloud to Homey Pro, as they’re separate platforms. You’ll need to set up your devices and Flows again manually.
