With Homey Pro Backups, your Homey Pro mini is automatically backed up to the cloud every night. You can restore your backup when setting up another Homey Pro mini or after your device returns from repair.
Backup compatibility
Backups from other Homey Pro models can’t be migrated to Homey Pro mini.
This functionality requires a subscription. Alternatively, you can manually create a local backup using the Homey USB Tool.
About backups
Homey stores its last 7 backups in the cloud. Backups are bound to Homey’s owner’s account. You can back up up to 3 Homeys at the same time.
In short, one account can store up to 21 backups. You can manage and delete your backups at My Backups on the Homey website.
Rate limit error message
If you get a rate limit error message, please try again after 1 hour. If you get the same error again, please wait 24 hours and try again.
Subscribing to Homey Pro Backups

Alternatively, you can purchase a one-year prepaid subscription in the Homey Store for €10 (subject to currency conversions). This subscription does not automatically renew.
Managing your subscription
You can visit My Subscriptions on the Homey website to see your subscription status. You don’t need to cancel when you’ve purchased a one-year subscription in the Homey Store.
If you use iOS, you can manage your subscription through the Apple App Store. For Android users, subscription management is available on the Google Play Store.
Backup contents
All your devices, Flows, Insights, variables, alarms, settings, Z-Wave, and Zigbee networks are being backed up. Only apps installed from the developer tools will not be backed up.
Backup actions
Create a backup manually
You can create a backup manually by going to More (…) → Backups in the Homey app.
Restore a backup
First, make sure your Homey Pro mini is reset to factory settings. After connecting to Ethernet, you can restore a backup if backups are available.
Migrating between Homeys
You can use backups to migrate between two Homey Pro minis. Learn how.
Backup compatibility
It’s not supported to migrate a backup from a Homey Pro (2023 — 2026) or Homey Pro (2016 — 2019) to a Homey Pro mini.
Transferring ownership
When you transfer ownership of Homey to another user, your backups up to that point remain available to you. If the new owner is also a Homey Pro Backups subscriber, Homey will continue to back up automatically. However, the new owner can only access the backups created after the transfer date.
