Homey Pro (Early 2023) can connect to one or more Homey Bridges. By doing so, you extend the wireless coverage throughout your home for Z-wave, Zigbee, 433MHz, and Infrared devices.
Setting up Homey Bridge as a Satellite
To set up Homey Bridge as a Satelite, its LED Ring should breathe blue. Homey Bridge is now ready for setup, and you can follow these steps.
Step 1
Open the Homey app and tap Devices
in the tab bar.
Step 2
Tap → New Device
in the upper-right corner.
Step 3
While Homey Pro searches for new devices, a dialog should appear within seconds. Tap Connect Homey Bridge
and follow the instructions.
The just-connected Homey Bridge will automatically join Homey Pro’s Zigbee and Z-Wave network as a powered repeater, boosting your mesh network of both wireless technologies.
Using Satellite Mode
Homey Bridge can also act as a transmitter for your Infrared and 433 MHz devices. You can use Homey Pro or one of your Homey Bridges as an antenna per device.
For example, if you have a TV in the bedroom, place Homey Bridge near it. Homey Bridge will transmit Infrared signals to the TV instead of Homey Pro in your living room.
Follow the steps below to set this up.
Step 1
Navigate to the Advanced Settings of a 433 MHz or Infrared device and tap Antenna
Step 2
Tap which Antenna to use.
Receiver for 433 MHz devices
Homey Bridge can act as a receiver for your 433 MHz devices. It works automatically after adding Homey Bridge as a Satellite to Homey Pro.
In rare cases, Homey Pro and Homey Bridge may receive the 433 MHz signal simultaneously. This could cause Flows to trigger twice when only one signal is transmitted.
You can easily fix this by disabling “Receive 433 MHz signals” in Homey Bridge's Advanced Settings.
