Troubleshooting
Some smart meters may not provide sufficient power to the Homey Energy Dongle, leading to frequent disconnections or other unusual behavior. If you experience any issues, try powering the Homey Energy Dongle through its USB-C port first to see if that resolves it.
My Homey Energy Dongle can’t be found
Ensure your Homey Energy Dongle is in pairing mode, indicated by a breathing blue LED. Also, check that your Homey app is up to date and that Bluetooth permissions are enabled.
My Homey Energy Dongle doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi
Make sure your Homey Pro and Homey Energy Dongle are connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The Energy Dongle utilizes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 LE, both operating on the 2.4 GHz band, so your Homey Pro needs to be on the same band to connect reliably.
My Homey Energy Dongle isn’t receiving any data
Some smart meters in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland have a P1 port that your energy provider needs to activate remotely. Without activation, your Homey Energy Dongle won’t receive any data. You can usually request this through your provider’s portal or by email.
