Device Groups let you group similar devices within the same Zone and control them all at once. Whether it’s lights, plugs, or window coverings, Device Groups help keep your smart home tidy and easy to manage.
What can be grouped?
You can create Device Groups for lights, smart plugs (on/off), and window coverings, including curtains and blinds. To be grouped, devices must be in the same Zone.
Window coverings must have matching capabilities (such as open/close or tilt). Smart plugs can only be grouped with lights if they are set to behave like lights.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix different devices in a Device Group?
Yes. Just remember that the controls available in a Device Group depend on the devices you include. When mixing devices with different capabilities, the group will default to the lowest common feature set. For example, if you group a color light with a white-only light, the group will only support white light.
What happens when I move a Device Group to a different Zone?
Transferring a Device Group to a different Zone automatically moves all devices within that group to the new Zone.
How do I control a single device that’s part of a Device Group?
Simply press and hold the group tile to access its controls. Then, tap the Device Group’s name at the top center of the screen, and select the device you want to control.
How do I set my smart plug to behave as a light?
Smart plugs can only be grouped with lights if they are set to behave like lights. To do this, tap Devices
in the tab bar, then press and hold the smart plug’s tile. Tap the Settings
icon in the upper-right corner and set “Plugged in” to “Light.”
How does a Device Group behave when devices are out of sync?
When devices in a Device Group are not in the same state, such as mixed on/off statuses or differing colors, the group tile reflects a simplified status. Here’s how it works.
Scenario | Group Behavior |
On/Off Status | |
Group is turned ON, then one device is turned OFF manually | Group remains ON |
All devices are turned OFF manually | Group updates to OFF |
Group is OFF, then one device is turned ON manually | Group remains OFF |

Color Status | |
One device’s color is changed | Group retains previous color |
