Homey can calculate what sending power back to the grid earns or costs you. Set your export price once, and Homey includes it automatically in your energy calculations.
Choose a pricing method
- In the Homey Mobile App, go to Energy → Settings → Electricity → Export Price.
- Choose Dynamic Price or Fixed Price.
Dynamic price
Choose this if your export rate changes throughout the day. Homey updates your export price automatically as market rates change.
- Under Based on, choose Import Price or Base Price.
- Import Price: your configured import rate, market price plus your own markup or formula.
- Base Price: the market price, without your markup.
If you choose Import Price
Make sure you’ve set one up first. Dynamic Price calculates your export rate from it.
- Choose Offset or Formula.
- Offset: enter a fixed amount to add to or subtract from the selected base.
- Formula: enter a formula to calculate the export price from the selected base.
- Tap Save.
Fixed price
Choose this if your provider pays the same rate at all times.
- Enter your export price per kWh from your energy contract.
- Tap Save.
If your contract has separate peak and off-peak export rates, enter an average for more accurate calculations.
View your export price
- In the Homey Mobile App, go to Energy.
- Scroll to the Electricity Prices graph.
- Switch to the Export Price tab to see today’s and tomorrow’s rates.
